Bill Triplett is entering his fourth season as head coach for the Teton Women’s Basketball Program. In his first year at Williston State, Coach Triplett guided the Tetons to a 11-11 record in a season that was shortened due to the Covid virus. The Tetons improved steadily during that season and earned a home play-off game which they won over Bismarck State.  Their season came to an end in the second round as they lost to Miles C.C., a team that sported a 22-1 record with their only loss coming at the hands of the Tetons.  In Coach T.'s second year, he led the Tetons to the Region 13 Title game beating Lake Region and Bismarck State in the first two rounds of the play-offs.  Like the previous year, the Tetons were matched up against a team (NDSCS) that had put togther a season that had just one loss, and again, that loss was against the Tetons.  The Region Thirteen Runner-up Tetons finished the season with 19 wins and 14 losses.

Coach Triplett's basketball coaching career has been filled with successful seasons where he's had three stops in North Dakota and two in Montana. Triplett spent 28 years coaching at the high school level spanning back to 1980 where he started his basketball coaching career when he spent four years coaching both girls’ and boys’ basketball at Starkweather, North Dakota.  After a one-year stint at his hometown of Lansford, North Dakota, Triplett took over both the girls’ and boys’ basketball programs at Reed Point, Montana where he spent twenty-one years.

In 2007, it was on to Minot State University where Coach Triplett spent the next ten years, from 2007 to 2017. At MSU, Triplett was the head softball coach and assistant women's basketball coach for Sheila Green Gerding.  While at Minot State, Triplett helped Coach Gerding and the Beavers to two national basketball tournaments.

Coach Triplett also won two conference tournament championships which earned trips to the national softball tournament at the NAIA level with Minot State. He also guided the Beavers to the national play-offs at the NCAA DII level after Minot State made the jump from the NAIA to NCAA Division II with his softball team.  Coach Triplett was honored by being selected the NCAA Division II CaptainU National Coach of the Year in 2013 as he guided the Minot State softball team to a 41-11 record and a national tournament berth. Coach Triplett’s softball coaching record at Minot State was 298 wins and 172 losses.

Coach Triplett returned to the Montana coaching circuit in 2018-19 where he guided the Savage Warriors girl's basketball team to an undefeated regular season, a district championship, and a trip to the Class C State Girl's basketball tournament in Great Falls. All tolled, Coach Triplett has taken his Montana high school teams to the state tournament eleven times, winning three state championships and finishing second another three times. His high school girls’ basketball coaching record in Montana is 433 wins and 52 losses and includes fifteen district championships, eight divisional championships and two state championships. Triplett also has a boys’ basketball record of 259 wins and 122 losses with seven district titles, two divisional championships and another state championship.

“I really enjoy leading the Teton program and coaching at Williston State”, said Triplett. “I love the game of basketball and am very proud of our athletes and what we have accomplished the last three seasons.  Advancing to the regional championship game last year and again this year was very rewarding as our players put together another awesome season, but being one of the top teams in the nation academically means even more to me.  We have excellent, high character young ladies and they do things right. I'm very proud of them".
