Baseball Splits Double Header
Teton Baseball goes 1-1 in the split double header. The Tetons took game one from Central Lakes College 4-3 in extra innings. Chris Shopbell got the scoring started with a three run shot to give the Tetons a 3-0 lead. Through seven innings, the game was tied at three after consecutive runs were scored by the Raiders. In the eighth, the Tetons scratched one on a Shane Cowan single scoring Jalen Denton. This is all the Tetons would need to close out the game as Kevin Conway earned a save in his first appearance of the season on the mound. The Tetons fell short in game two against #6 Madison Community College 4-1.
Coach Przybilla: "It is always nice to find a way to win a game. We did not have a great day at the plate, but we did just enough to win. The Madison game was frustrating. Two of the runs were un earned. We got a great performance on the mound from Jorge Maza-Leon who went five strong innings. We didn't do a good job of taking advantage of opportunities when they presented themselves. We shot ourselves in the foot more than once today. We need to really work to limit the mental mistakes and rest up on the off day tomorrow."
The Tetons are back in action March 13th against Dakota College.
