Tetons Hockey earns first win of 2019-20 season
WILLISTON, N.D. (November 8, 2019) - The Williston State College men's hockey team had a noteworthy moment Friday, earning its first victory of the 2019-20 season.
The Tetons picked up a 5-2 win over NCAA Division-II University of Jamestown, starting off a two-game series in style. The win boosts Williston's overall record to 1-10.
Wade Auger scored the first goal for the team, giving the Tetons a 1-0 lead early in the first period. The remainder of the game's scoring would take place in the second period, started by WSC's Andrew Pitleck to boost the lead to 2-0. While Jamestown would cut the deficit to 2-1, the Tetons quickly responded with a Blake Zabinski score to reestablish a two-goal advantage.
Leading 3-2, Thomas King scored a goal to give Williston a lead it would never relinquish. The final goal of the game came courtesy of Hank Bouchard, who scored with just seconds left in the period.
Williston will play Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
