Netherlands Standout Signs For Fall '22
In addition to, incoming Freshman Kaleigh Topilko and returning Sophomore Poppy Carman, the Tetons are looking internationally to accompany their slew of regional talent for Fall of 2022.
The Tetons are prod to announce the signing of Emma Croes. Emma is joining the Tetons from the Capitol city of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Her fastpitch career began on a baseball diamond, "The fact that Emma grew up playing baseball, grabbed my attention for the start. She has a unique spirit about her that is focussed but easy going, determined but graceful. I am looking forward to having a plethora of experience on the team next Fall and Emma is going to bring an interesting interpretation and fire to the squad. I am a big fan of her as a young woman, how she plays the game, the story she has and what she intends to bring to the community of Williston." - Coach Ward
Emma, tell us about your hometown and who you are currently playing for:
"I currently play on a softball team at Amsterdam Pirates and on a girls baseball team. The positions I prefer to play are 2B, 3B, C and OF. I was born in Amsterdam, here I lived for two years and then I moved to Badhoevedorp. I lived in Badhoevedorp for about ten years and that's also where I started playing beeball (BeeBall was invented by the Dutch Baseball Federation. It intents to simplify the game of baseball and spread the fun of playing it already to the youngest kids.) and baseball. Currently, I live in Amsterdam for five years with my mom, stepdad, step-sister, step-brother and my two cats Twix and Simba."
What do you bring to Teton Softball, the WSC campus and the Williston Community:
"A positive friendly atmosphere but also a hard working student and teammate. I am very good at bringing out the best in others so they experience a good time and perform better."
How are you feeling about starting your collegiate career as a Teton:
"I am super excited about the new season and I can't wait to play for the Tetons! Playing college ball in America is a dream come true for me!"
What is your best softball memory so far:
"Last season we went to a tournament in Barcelona, Spain with our whole team which was really super fun and where I learned a lot."
What are you current academic goals"
Currently my goals are to get my high school diploma and for that I will work hard and get good grades.
You have played alot of ball, what are some of your achievements:
I have participated in the Dutch championship little league (softball) several times and a Dutch championship (baseball) 2019 as well as a Dutch champion in the pool of 2020.
What is one thing that you will always be proud of:
That I always have a positive attitude and do everything I can to achieve my goals.
Favorite food: Sushi, pasta
