Houck Commits to Mayville State
Hunter Houck has announced his commitment to play next fall at Mayville State University. The Great Falls native had a strong freshman campaign. He posted a 4.85 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 39.1 innings. Hunter pitched in a number of different roles last season but found himself at the top of the Tetons rotation going into post season play. He got the ball in game 1 of both playoff tournaments the Tetons played last season.
Mayville State competes in the North Star Athletic Association (NAIA). Houck will join a number of former Tetons next fall when he arrives on campus. Derek Palmiere and Tanner Boyle are both playing for the Comets this year.
Coach Przybilla: " Hunter is exactly what you want a pitcher to be. He is tough, competitive, and fearless. I think he has found a school that really fits what he is about. Hunter is expected to anchor our rotation this spring. Hunter takes a lot of pride in being a Teton which I think makes all the difference."
