Softball falls on opening day
Teton Softball opened its season in Minot on Saturday. They matched up against the defending DIII National Champion Wildcats from NDSCS and the defending conference champion Bucs from Dawson. They fell in both games of the split doubleheader.
Game one against NDSCS was not the opener the Tetons were looking for. They fell 12-0, only recorded two hits and made 4 defensive errors.
Game two against Dawson was a much better effort on both sides of the ball. They fell 7-5 in 5 innings as they reached their time limit for the game in the dome. Chelsea Creech was a bright spot for the Tetons. She had 3 hits and 3 RBI's including the first home run of the season for the Tetons. Alexis Stahlman and Hailey Hunt both recorded two hits apiece. Kaleigh Topilko logged 5.1 innings allowing all seven runs.
The Tetons are back in action today (Feb. 11) against Miles (12:00) and Dakota College (8:00).
