Williston State Tetons Dominate Dickinson State JV in Dual Blowout Victories
The Williston State Tetons basketball teams showcased their dominance on the court Tuesday night, delivering statement wins over Dickinson State's JV squads. The Women's team cruised to a commanding 100-44 victory, while the Men's team followed with an electrifying 119-56 rout. Both teams displayed stellar performances, thrilling their home crowd and reaffirming their reputation as regional powerhouses.
Women's Team Sets the Tone
From the opening tip, the Tetons' Women's team left no doubt about their intentions. They came out with a relentless full-court press that flustered Dickinson State's offense, forcing multiple turnovers and converting them into fast-break points.
Offensively, Allie Garcia was unstoppable, leading all scorers with 22 points. Her sharpshooting and ability to drive into the lane kept the Blue Hawks' defense on their heels all night. Complementing Garcia was Allison Kunze, who turned in a dynamic two-way performance with 20 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Kunze's presence in the paint and her hustle on defense ignited several scoring runs for the Tetons.
The Tetons' depth also shone as their bench players maintained the high level of play, ensuring no letup in the 56-point blowout.
Men's Team Follows with Fireworks
Not to be outdone, the Men's team exploded out of the gates, combining high-octane offense with smothering defense. The result was a jaw-dropping 119-point performance that left Dickinson State JV scrambling for answers.
As expected, star guard Rex Stirling led the way with 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Stirling's ability to score from anywhere on the floor, combined with his playmaking, set the tone for the Tetons' offense. Coming off the bench, Wil Olson added a spark with 15 points, knocking down key shots that helped extend the lead and energize the crowd.
Both the Men and Women are off to a strong start. They will be back in action Dec. 6th as they will take on Northwest College. Teton Athleticswill be partnering with the local Boyscout chapter Dec. 6th to give the kids a great experience at the basketball games.
