Tetons Sweep Dawson at Home
Williston, ND – The Williston State College Tetons put on a show Sunday as both the men's and women's basketball teams secured decisive victories over Dawson Community College in front of an electrified home crowd.
The Teton women set the tone early, controlling the game from the opening tip and never looking back in a dominant 95-54 win. A balanced offensive attack allowed Williston State to build a commanding lead early, leaving Dawson with no room to recover. With contributions coming from all over the roster, the Tetons demonstrated their depth and teamwork, a trademark of their success this season.
The men's matchup was an entirely different kind of contest—a high-scoring thriller that saw Williston State outgun the No. 18-ranked Buccaneers 105-92. From the opening minutes, it was a race to put points on the board, and the Tetons were up to the challenge. Leading the charge was Josiah McDonald, who delivered a stellar performance with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.
One of the key factors in the Tetons' victory was their deep rotation. With 12 players logging significant minutes, the team's depth and resilience were on full display. It was a collective effort that highlighted the grit and determination the Tetons have shown all season long.
After the game, Head Coach Herman kept his words simple but meaningful: "It was a big one." And indeed, it was—a statement win for both programs as they continue to build momentum down the stretch.
With these victories, the Tetons proved they are a force to be reckoned with, and fans can expect more exciting basketball as the season continues with Miles coming to town tonight to close out the regular season.
