Bill Triplett collects his 100th win
Bill Triplett Secures 100th Win as Tetons' Head Coach
Williston, ND – A milestone moment has arrived for Williston State College women's basketball as Head Coach Bill Triplett notched his 100th career victory at the helm of the Tetons. Triplett, who took over the program in the spring of 2020, has steadily built the Tetons into a force to be reckoned with in the MonDak Conference.
The journey to 100 wins has been nothing short of impressive. In his first season, Triplett inherited a rebuilding squad that finished with an 11-12 record. However, it didn't take long for the Tetons to turn a corner under his leadership. In the 2021-22 season, Williston State surged to a 19-13 record, going 15-7 in conference play and advancing to the Region XIII title game. That success was repeated in the 2022-23 campaign when the Tetons posted a 20-11 record and once again reached the regional championship.
Last season, the program took another leap forward, finishing with a stellar 27-5 record and securing the MonDak Conference regular season title. The remarkable campaign earned Triplett MonDak Coach of the Year honors, solidifying his status as one of the premier coaches in the region.
Now in his fifth season, Triplett has guided the Tetons to a 23-7 record as they prepare to begin postseason play at home on Sunday. With another promising run in sight, Williston State looks poised to add to its recent string of success under Triplett's guidance.
"Five years, five teams, 100 wins," said Triplett. "Really, the credit goes to the players and teams. You can't win ball games without great players. Milestones are nice but let's not forget who really won those games. The Tetons did."
As the Tetons set their sights on another deep postseason push, Coach Triplett's 100th win serves as yet another milestone in a program that continues to rise. If recent history is any indication, there are plenty more victories—and potential championships—on the horizon for Williston State women's basketball.
