Baseball opens 7-3 through ten games.
The Williston State Baseball team has opened the 2023-24 season 7-3 through the first ten games. The Tetons opened the season with a four-game series against Adams State. They went 1-3 on the trip. "It was good to get outside and run around for the first time. We did some things well and probably should have won two of the four," said head coach Mason Przybilla. "We didn't pitch well, and it cost us. We are very young and just need more game reps." The Tetons next played NDSCS in a doubleheader and a four-game series with Midland University. The group started to take shape, winning all six of the games.
Kody Butt has led the way on the mound logging 14.2 innings. In three starts Butt has accumulated 31 strikeouts and currently has a 4.30 ERA. Jalen Denton started the season 16 for 35 with 5 doubles and a home run. Kleysen Gabruck has been a standout newcomer to the Tetons lineup. He is currently 14 for 33 with five extra base hits.
The Tetons will now make their way to Tucson, AZ where they will play their next twelve games. The first will be against Northland Community College on March 8th.
