Teton Baseball Clinches MonDak Regular Season Title Behind Dominant Pitching Performances
Williston, ND — Williston State College Baseball finished the regular season in championship fashion this past weekend, winning three of four games against North Dakota State College of Science to capture the MonDak Conference Regular Season title.
The Tetons (35-11 overall, 20-4 MonDak) leaned heavily on their pitching staff, with three complete-game gems leading the way in the critical series.
In Game 1, Matt Thompson set the tone with a stellar outing, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on four hits and striking out eight in a 5-1 Teton victory.
Although WSC dropped a nail-biter in Game 2, falling 7-6, they bounced back in emphatic fashion. In Game 3, Cameron Fenn was nearly untouchable, needing just 76 pitches to go the distance. Fenn gave up one run on five hits while striking out six as the Tetons cruised to an 11-1 win.
The series finale was another showcase of dominance from the mound, with Collin Cobb delivering a 7-inning shutout. Cobb allowed just four hits while striking out eight, leading Williston State to a 2-0 win to officially secure the regular season crown.
"This was a championship effort from our guys," said Head Coach Mason Przybilla. "Our starting pitching set the tone all season, and the team fed off that energy. We've talked all season about finishing strong, and they certainly did that."
With the regular season wrapped up, the Tetons now turn their attention to the postseason. They will host the No. 6 seed from the MonDak standings in a best-of-three series beginning Saturday at Rabon Field. A series win would punch their ticket to the Region Tournament, where the Tetons aim to keep their dream season rolling.
First pitch times and additional postseason information will be announced later this week.
