Tetons Dominate Weekend Matchups Against Vermilion and Itasca
Friday: Tetons Roll Past Vermilion 92-53
On Friday, the Tetons defeated the Vermilion Ironhawks with a commanding 92-53 win. Rex Stirling was the star of the night, delivering a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Stirling's inside presence and scoring touch proved too much for the Ironhawks to handle. Eden Hobbs complemented Stirling's performance with a solid outing, contributing 17 points, three rebounds, and two steals while providing energy on both ends of the court.
Williston State's defense set the tone early, forcing turnovers and limiting Vermilion's scoring opportunities. The Tetons built a sizable lead in the first half and never looked back, showcasing their ability to control the game from start to finish.
Saturday: Bench Shines in 91-50 Rout of Itasca
The Tetons continued their winning ways on Saturday, cruising to a 91-50 victory over the Itasca Vikings. This time, it was the bench that stole the show, with Benjamin Yombi leading the charge. Yombi poured in 18 points in an efficient performance, giving the Tetons a spark off the bench. Josiah McDonald also made a significant impact, tallying 17 points, six rebounds, and four steals in a well-rounded effort.
Williston State's defense once again proved to be a difference-maker, stifling Itasca's offense and creating fast-break opportunities. The Tetons' depth and versatility were on full display as they controlled the tempo and dominated the boards.
