2024 Season Preview
Head coach Jared Ward enters his third season at the helmof the softball program and is expecting a breakthrough season. "We feel like we took a step forward last year. It was just two years ago that I was recruiting players out of the dorms just so we had enough to play. Last year was a step in the right direction in terms of getting some of the right people in the room. I feel like this group is positioned to compete everyday. We have a tight knit group that has a high level of buy in, not only to our program but the commitment to success." Head Coach Jared Ward
There are a few players the team will rely heavily on this season. Kaleigh Topilko logged 101 innings and struck out 83 batters last year. She will be asked to carry another heavy workload this spring. Madison Howard was the primary catcher on last years team she hit .333 with 6 doubles, 2 home runs, and 20 RBI's. Alexis Stahlman will be tasked with roaming in center field this spring. She is coming off a season where she hit .286 and scored 21 runs for the Tetons.
A couple of impact newcomers to look for will play some very important positions this spring for the Tetons. Jenna Etcheberry is a freshman from Great Falls, MT. She will take over at short stop. Etcheberry is a dynamic defender with good speed that finds her way on base. Jamison Langois will replace Poppy Carman on the mound. She will be asked to take a large bulk of the innings that Kaleigh Topilko does not throw. Chelsea Creech is a sophomore transfer from the NWAC. The Tetons will look for her to be an impact bat in the middle of the order for much of the season.
The Tetons open the season Feb. 10 in Minot, ND. They will compete in the MonDak preseason tournament where they will take on NDSCS, Miles, Dawson, and Dakota College.
