Sophomore Standout Hailey Hunt Commits to Dakota Wesleyan University
The Williston State College softball team will see yet another player play at a four year school. Hailey Hunt has announced her commitment to Dakota Wesleyan University. A native of St. Brieux, Saskatchewan, Hunt has been a driving force for the Tetons, making her mark both at the plate and on defense during the 2024 season.
Hunt's offensive contributions have been significant. She hit an impressive .320, tallying 33 hits, including eight doubles and a home run, providing consistent production in key moments throughout the season. Her combination of power and consistency made her a reliable contributor to the Tetons' lineup, helping generate momentum for the team.
Defensively, Hunt proved to be a versatile asset, excelling both as a catcher and at third base. She demonstrated impressive poise behind the plate, with a fielding percentage of 92% and a caught-stealing rate of 28%, shutting down opposing base runners and adding a solid layer of security for the Tetons' defense.
Hunt's commitment to Dakota Wesleyan University marks an exciting step forward in her athletic career. Known for its competitive athletic programs, DWU offers a strong environment for her to further develop her skills and continue making an impact on the field. Hunt's departure will surely be felt by the Tetons, but her commitment to Dakota Wesleyan speaks to her talent, dedication, and the promising future that lies ahead.
