Softball Splits with Aquinas College
Williston State Tetons snatched the lead late in their 3-2 victory over Aquinas Saints JV on Thursday. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Bria Bonik singled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Williston State Tetons pitchers struck out eight, while Aquinas Saints JV sat down six.
Aquinas Saints JV got on the board in the first inning after Kylie Serin singled, scoring one run.
Williston State Tetons took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Adelaide Rambo, and Bonik.
Lily Adams led things off in the circle for Williston State Tetons. The pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Abby Sheridan started in the circle for Aquinas Saints JV. The starter surrendered five hits and three runs (one earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.
Williston State Tetons's Bonik, the number eight hitter, led Williston State Tetons with two hits in three at bats. Rambo, Cameron Macdonald, and Bonik each drove in one run for Williston State Tetons. Williston State Tetons ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game.
