Teton Softball Struggles Against Dawson, Swept in Four-Game Series
WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston State College softball team had a tough weekend at the plate and came up short in all four games against MonDak rival Dawson Community College, dropping the series 6-2, 2-1, 3-0, and 8-3.
Despite a few strong individual efforts on the mound, the Tetons couldn't match the consistent pitching performances put together by the Buccaneers. In Game 2, freshman pitcher Lilly Adams turned in one of her best outings of the season, going six innings and allowing just one earned run. But offensive support was hard to come by, and the Tetons dropped the narrow contest, 2-1.
Over the four-game stretch, Williston State's offense struggled to find rhythm, striking out 24 times. The lack of contact and timely hitting made it difficult to mount any comebacks or sustain rallies. Dawson took full advantage, using dominant pitching and key hits to take control of each game.
The Tetons managed to scratch a few runs across in Games 1 and 4, including a two-run effort in the series opener and a three-run showing in the finale. However, those bursts weren't enough to overcome Dawson's steady pressure.
With the sweep, Williston State will look to bounce back and finish the regular season strong as they return home for a weekend series against North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). First pitch is set for Saturday, and the Tetons will be looking to turn the page and regain momentum before postseason play.
