Softball Wrap Up Regular Season, Set Sights on Region 13 Tournament
Williston, ND — The Williston State College softball team wrapped up its regular season this past weekend, finishing with a hard-fought series against North Dakota State College of Science. Despite dropping three of four games to the Wildcats, the Tetons secured the No. 5 seed heading into the Region 13 Tournament.
WSC closes the regular season with an overall record of 19-25 and a 10-14 mark in MonDak Conference play. The final series against NDSCS saw flashes of the Tetons' potential, but inconsistency at the plate and some defensive miscues proved costly. Still, the lone win in the series helped solidify Williston State's standing in a highly competitive conference race.
Now, the focus shifts to the postseason, where the Tetons will open Region 13 Tournament play against Bismarck State College. The two teams are set to square off at 10:00 AM on Thursday morning in Glendive, Montana.
The matchup against Bismarck State presents an opportunity for the Tetons to reset and make a postseason run. During the regular season, the two teams battled closely, and WSC will look to lean on its veteran leadership and resilient spirit to advance.
Offensively, the Tetons have been led by a balanced attack all season, with several players stepping up in key moments. Solid pitching and timely hitting will be crucial if Williston State hopes to extend its season and make noise in the regional tournament.
With a fresh start ahead and everything on the line, the Tetons are ready for the challenge.
