Williston State Tetons Fall to Bismarck State, Conclude Impressive Season
The Williston State Tetons' 2024-25 women's basketball season came to an end after a hard-fought 97-85 loss to Bismarck State College in postseason play. Despite a standout 30-point performance from Taylah Murtagh, the Tetons couldn't contain the Mystics' high-powered offense.
Bismarck State's efficiency proved to be the difference-maker, as they shot an impressive 51.4% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, the Tetons struggled to find their rhythm from long range, connecting on just 9 of 31 attempts from deep.
Both teams leaned heavily on their starting lineups to carry the scoring load. The Mystics had three starters eclipse the 20-point mark, providing a balanced attack that kept Williston State on its heels throughout the game. Despite Murtaugh's offensive explosion, the Tetons were unable to keep pace in the final stretch.
The loss concludes an outstanding season for Williston State, finishing with a strong 25-7 record. The Tetons have established themselves as a formidable force and will look to build on their success as they prepare for another competitive campaign in 2025-26.
