Williston State Head Women's Basketball Coach, Bill Triplett, has announced the signing of Sophie Barker, a 5' 6" point guard, from South Australia.  Sophie has been playing high school basketball at St. Michael College and in a local league for the West Adelaide Bearcats. Her junior year was a very successful one as her teams won multiple championships at both the high school and club levels. She was selected as the MVP in her National Championship win for West Adelaide in 2022.

Most recently, Sophie was named her team's De La Salle award recipient after her senior campaign which is awarded to the most dedicated and hardest worker.

"We are super excited that Sophie will be joining the Teton squad next fall" stated Coach Triplett. "She is an elite defender and a true, pass-first, point guard that has blow by speed and excellent passing skills. When I saw her play, her defense reminded of Elizabeth Field, who played for us the last couple years, so that's saying a lot. Sophie will fit in perfectly with our style of play and make all her teammates better.
