Teton Basketball Sweeps Miles Community College
Teton basketball sweeps Miles Community College in Miles City, MT.
The Lady Tetons started off the night with a come from behind win. The Pioneers led 42-34 at the half. This was unfamiliar territory for coach Tripplet's team as they have won so many games this year by such large margins. The Lady Tetons would outscore the Pioneers 29-17 in the second half to squeak out yet another conference win. Canzas Hisbadhorse and Taylor Moffat both had 17 points. The Tetons only shot 38.6% from the field and 27.8% from three. The difference maker tonight came on the defensive end. They had 12 steals and 8 blocks to force 16 Pioneer turnovers. The Lady Tetons move to 18-2 on the season and sit on top of the MonDak conference.
The Men's game displayed yet another Teton come from behind victory. The Men would prevail 82-73 after trailing 29-35 at the half. Rex Stirling led the Tetons with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Benjamin Yombi had 14 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. The Tetons were out shot from the field but not from three. The Tetons held the Pioneers to just 25% from three while they shot 33.3%. The Men move to 6-14 on the season.
Both the Men and Women are back in action on January 31st in "The Well" as they take on NDSCS. We want to welcome Hagan Elementary School and Western Cooperative Credit Union to the game.
This will be a very special night for the Teton faithful. Long-time concessions manager Polly Vinger will have the concession stand dedicated in her name. Her and the gals will be coming out of retirement one last time to take over. There will be a full menu that includes ICE CREAM! We will see you there!
