Baseball finishes 8-3 in Tucson, AZ
Teton baseball won eight of their eleven games in Tucson. The Tetons picked up wins over Western tech, Central Lakes College, Northland, California Miramar, Riverland, NDSCS, Dickinson State, and Anoka Ramsey. They dropped two games to NJCAA division 1 #8 Western Arizona and one to NJCAA division 2 #2 Madison College.
The Tetons saw a few great performances, but one to highlight on the mound was the start they received from Tyler Smith against NDSCS where he went 7 innings striking out 16 batters. At the plate Josh Tibbs led the way with 18 hits, 4 home runs and 20 RBI's on the trip.
Coach Przybilla: "I thought we had a few really nice performances from a few guys. We finally had some guys step into some pressure situations and find success. In past years, we have fallen apart in many of these situations so it's nice to see our group has matured and learned from mistakes they have made. Now we need to get home, get healthy and rest up for the start of conference play. The league is very competitive from top to bottom so it should be a fun test!"
The Tetons open conference play with Lake Region April 2nd. Stay tuned for schedule changes. Many of the eastern teams do not have playable fields so there could be more homes games coming to Williston.
